Leafs season comes to an end

BARRIE – The Toronto Maple Leafs Intercounty Baseball League season has ended in excruitating fashion.

Brad Bissell tossed a complete-game eight-hitter hitter to win a spectacular pitcher’s duel with Darryl Craig as the Barrie Baycats edged the Leafs 1-0 Friday night in Barrie, winning the best-of-seven series four games to one and ending the Leafs season.

Thursdays game rained out - rescheduled for Friday at 7:30pm

Leafs rally in 9th to live another day

Thanks to a dramatic two run, ninth inning rally, the Toronto Maple Leafs live to fight another day.

Nildo Puertas slapped an infield single to drive in Raul Borjas with the winning run, giving the Leafs a thrilling 8-7 win over the Barrie Baycats in Game 4 of the Intercounty Baseball League semi-finals Wednesday night at Christie Pits.

Barrie still leads the best-of-seven series 3-1 and can wrap it up with a win tonight in Barrie , but the Leafs do get to live for at least one more day thanks to their ninth inning dramatics.
