Leafs drop twin bill in London

LONDON – The Toronto Maple Leafs didn’t have much of a reason to celebrate on Canada Day.

The Leafs lost both ends of a doubleheader to the London Majors on Wednesday, losing the opener 6-5 in eight innings and also dropping the second game 7-5, to fall from second place in the Intercounty Baseball league, into fourth place.

Sunday's game vs Guelph rained out

Sunday's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Guelph Royals, scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm at Christie Pits, has been cancelled due to the weather.

A make-up game will be rescheduled at a later date.

Leafs trounce Twins

MISSISSAUGA – The Mississauga Twins are finding life in the Intercounty Baseball League getting tougher and tougher as the season wears on.

After a solid start to their first season in Mississauga after transferring from Stratford in the off-season, the Twins are really starting to struggle as they try to hold on to the eighth and final playoff spot in the IBL.

The Toronto Maple Leafs mauled the Twins 22-2 Saturday night in Mississauga , pounding out 18 hits and taking advantage of six errors as the reeling Twins slipped to 6-15 after a strong start.
