The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Hamilton Thunderbirds of the Intercounty Baseball League announced the formation of the inaugural Terry Steeves Cup Baseball Tournament.

The competition begins Sunday, August 8 at Dominico Field at Christie Pits, will consist of back-to-back home-and-home doubleheaders the first two weekends of this month (August), with more games to follow. Sunday’s games start at 1 p.m.

The Toronto Maple Leafs baseball club would like to thank all their devoted fans and followers for their continued support throughout the 2010 season.

The Leafs season came to a disappointing end on Monday afternoon after they were defeated 12-5 by the Guelph Royals and eliminated from the post season in six games.

Although the pursuit of the IBL title couldn't be realized this season, please continue your support of the club next season, when the Leafs get a clean slate and another crack at being the best of the Intercounty.

The 2010 Intercounty Baseball League season has come to a bitterly disappointing end for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Leafs lost the IBL pennant in the last game of the regular season on a walk-off home run, and their playoff season ended in the first round when they were crushed by the Guelph Royals 12-5 on Monday afternoon in Guelph.

Guelph wins the best-of-seven series in six games with the seventh place Royals sending the second place Leafs to the sidelines in the first round for the second time in three seasons.
